A new award was created this year to honor the passing of Dr. John R. Pfeiffer, and was given to the Best Venous Paper, "Successful Thrombolysis of Iliofemoral Deep VenousThrombosis Reduces Postthrombotic Morbidity" and awarded to Nina Grewal, MD from Jobst Vascular Center and the Toledo Hospital, Toledo, OH

Drs. Tom Wakefield and Joann Lohr provided a eulogy for Dr. Pfeiffer, who's family was in attendance. The Society is most grateful for Dr. Pfeiffer's long and dedicated service, and the membership stood in recognition.
